Ghana’s entourage at the tournament
Three members of Team Ghana have reportedly gone missing following the conclusion of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
The Games officially came to an end on Sunday, but officials of the Ghanaian delegation are said to be unable to account for the whereabouts of three athletes who reportedly left the team’s camp.
The missing athletes have been identified as para-athlete Zinabu Issah, boxer Daniel Plange and boxer Precious Akai Nettey.
Issah was one of Ghana’s standout performers at the Games, winning a bronze medal in the women’s shot put event.
Plange also claimed bronze in the men’s over-90kg boxing division, despite suffering a 5-0 defeat to Northern Ireland’s William John McCartan in his final bout.
Akai Nettey enjoyed a strong start to her campaign, defeating Fiji’s Elijah Qiokata by second-round stoppage at the SSE Hydro.
However, her medal hopes ended in the quarter-finals after a unanimous points defeat to Mauritius’ Merven Clair.
Team Ghana officials are reportedly making efforts to locate the three athletes, whose whereabouts remain unknown.
Ghana sent a 40-athlete contingent to the 2026 Commonwealth Games and concluded the competition with two bronze medals.
