Brong Ahafo Region emerged champions of the Elite U17 Girls Competition after defeating Northern Region 3-1 on penalties in a tense final at Prampram.
The two sides battled to a goalless draw in regulation time, with both teams creating promising opportunities but failing to find the breakthrough. Brong Ahafo came closest to scoring when Mercy Akilvoa’s impressive solo effort struck the post, while Northern Region’s Mohammed Ruhia was unable to beat goalkeeper Fadila Musah with a second-half attempt.
With the match ending 0-0 after full time, the title was decided by a penalty shootout. Brong Ahafo goalkeeper Fadila Musah proved to be the hero, producing three crucial saves to guide her side to a 3-1 shootout victory.
The triumph crowned Brong Ahafo as champions of the Elite U17 Girls Competition, capping off a resilient campaign with a composed performance under pressure in the final.
