The four newly promoted officers
THE INSPECTOR General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted four police personnel for their exceptional role in dismantling an armed robbery syndicate in the Upper West Region.
The promotions are in recognition of the officers’ courage, professionalism and dedication during an intelligence-led operation that led to the arrest of six suspects linked to a series of armed robberies in parts of the Wa West District and Wa Municipality.
The promoted personnel are:Â No. 54126 G/Cpl. Mortsi Kwashie Divine, No. 54976 D/Cpl. Salifu Ishmael Aketisiwin, No. 57058 G/L/Cpl. Ernest Ameyaw Akumfi, and No. 57511 G/L/Cpl. John Bekaar Vitus.
According to the Police Administration, the operation by the Upper West Regional Police Command successfully broke up a syndicate responsible for multiple robbery incidents in the region.
The IGP and the Police Management Board have congratulated the promoted officers and urged them to continue demonstrating professionalism, dedication, and commitment in the discharge of their duties. The promotions take immediate effect.
It would be recalled that the IGP vowed to promote police personnel who demonstrate exceptional commitment in the fight against crime, particularly those who help dismantle criminal syndicates across the country.
IGP Yohuno said the Police Management Board would continue to reward dedication, courage and professionalism. He urged all personnel to remain committed to protecting lives and property, adding that the fight against armed robbery and other violent crimes remains a top priority for the Service. The IGP and the Police Management Board congratulated the promoted officers and encouraged them to continue to serve with diligence.
