Game scheduled for August 30
The TnA Stadium in Tarkwa will take centre stage on Sunday, August 30, as Medeama SC face Nations FC meet in the 2026 Champion of Champions, marking the ceremonial opening of the 2026/27 domestic football season.
Medeama enter the fixture as the reigning Ghana Premier League champions, while Nations FC earned their place after winning the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup.
The clash will pit Ghana’s two major domestic champions against each other, with both sides aiming to start the new campaign with silverware.
Beyond the prestige attached to the fixture, the Champion of Champions will provide both teams with an early opportunity to assess their squads, fine-tune their tactical plans and build momentum ahead of the new season.
The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League is scheduled to kick off from September 4–7.
Medeama have the league crown. Nations FC have the FA Cup. On August 30, only one can leave Tarkwa as Champion of Champions.
