Fred Kyei Mensah and Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah
Veteran music producer Fred Kyei Mensah, popularly known as Fredyma, has lashed out at Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah, Founder and Leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, after openly declaring his intention to prevent Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia from winning political power.
Prophet Owusu Bempah warned that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has no chance at the 2028 general election as Bawumia leads the party.
The outspoken preacher made the remarks during a church service on Sunday, August 9, 2026, framing his opposition to Dr. Bawumia in religious terms and past grievances, as well as pledging to take active steps against the NPP.
“So far as I’m alive, I won’t sit down for Bawumia to win power and come and disturb Christianity. I will curse anyone who votes for the NPP,” he said.
Fredyma, in a post, has vehemently disagreed with the man of God, calling his utterances against the opposition flagbearer as lacking maturity.
In a post on Facebook, the veteran musician stated that, “I chanced upon a video of Apostle Dr. Owusu Bempah and his congregation on social media some few days ago extremely angry and casting insinuations, insults, vituperations, aspersions, acidic verbose and curses on the NPP, its assigns and members. Aww 3baa no sen? I am befuddled.
“He catalogue all members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as fools (Nkwaseafuor), Animals (Mmoa), Stupid people (Agyimifuor), Mad (Abodamfuor) and other unpalatable invectives. Awww my Prophet, do I look like your descriptions? Eish what happened all of a sudden, after dealing with the NPP on good terms that you are now describing them as such? Abotare! AdwobrƐƐ!”part of the post read.
He added that, “Your description of Dr. Bawumia as a Moslem to rule over Christians, is a very dangerous precedent that can cause conflagrations and instability in the nation. At least, he has come to your church for blessings. Did you consider some of your statements as a threat when you said it?”
He called on the man of God to render an apology, saying, “Kindly come and apologise if you can, and remember that, Life is there for all of us. Suffice to say IF Dr. Bawumia doesn’t become the President one day as you wished, will Ghana collapse? Leave out Anger and Emotions. Preach the Gospel of Christ and direct our paths to salvation. Don’t get worked up. Despite all, I still love you.”
