GOSPEL MUSIC star, Diana Antwi Hamilton, has opened up about a near-death health scare earlier this year, revealing a suspected cancer diagnosis and credits her new single, ‘Nyame Bambofo’, meaning God the Protector, for sustaining her through the ordeal.
In a heartfelt testimony, the award-winning artiste shared that she was scheduled for surgery on May 27 after doctors discovered issues with her appendix. What was meant to be a routine “day case” procedure took a frightening turn.
“After my session, the doctors informed me that they had to take a portion of my intestines because there was a fear that I might have cancer. Even in my sleep, I could hear the doctor telling me the planned surgery had been successfully done. And after performing it, they think I have cancer. But to confirm it, they need about three weeks to undertake intensive laboratory processes,” Diana recounted.
Faced with uncertainty, Diana Hamilton said she turned to God in prayer. “I told God, for long I have worshipped you. I have a song yet to be released and I cannot use my cancer to minister the song. So please come to my aid,” she said.
Three weeks later, the results brought relief. “I walked into the consulting room for my result, and the doctor told me, ‘Diana, it’s good news. And it is only God.’”
Following her recovery, Diana Hamilton has released the official video for ‘Nyame Bambofo’, a powerful worship song celebrating God’s unfailing protection, faithfulness and love. The track serves as the first single from her upcoming album. According to Diana, ‘Nyame Bambofo’ is an expression of gratitude to God for seeing her through life’s challenges.
“My song Nyame Bambofo has saved me from a lot of atrocities including death, and God has changed my story after facing life challenges,” she stated.
The song carries a timely message of thanksgiving, hope, and trust in God’s constant presence through every season of life.
