The Adventist World Radio (AWR) has announced plans to expand its radio ministry to transform lives, particularly across its territories in Ghana.
The President of AWR for the Africa Region, Pastor Immanuel Osoro Ogwal, disclosed this on Wednesday during a visit to the South-East Ghana Union Mission (SEGUM) and other unions of the Seventh-day Adventist Church ahead of a radio training programme scheduled to take place next year in Kumasi.
He said the visit formed part of efforts by AWR to strengthen existing partnerships and extend its mission to various parts of the country.
Pastor Ogwal explained that AWR’s global strategy was built around four key priorities: producing quality content, reaching people everywhere, making disciples and building support for the ministry.
According to him, the organisation’s focus was not only on producing programmes of high technical quality but also on ensuring that their content made a meaningful impact on society, particularly by transforming lives.
Pastor Ogwal said AWR had already made significant investments in Ghana, including the acquisition of a radio station in Kumasi that broadcasts Adventist messages.
He added that AWR had also supported the South-West Ghana Union Conference to purchase airtime on radio stations that were not owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The Africa Regional President said the initiative had yielded encouraging results and that AWR would provide additional support while exploring further opportunities to expand its ministry across the country.
The President of the South-West Ghana Union Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Pastor Kwakye Adeefe, in his welcome address, said Pastor Ogwal’s visit was important in preparing the church for the planned training programme and strengthening AWR activities in Ghana.
He said the engagement would provide an opportunity for the various Adventist unions to put the necessary structures in place ahead of the training and other radio evangelism initiatives.
Pastor Adeefe expressed the hope that the engagement would further strengthen collaboration between AWR Africa and the Adventist Church in Ghana and help improve radio evangelism across the country.
