Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra is set to deepen its engagement with the Ghanaian community as it marks 15 years of operations, with management promising greater accessibility, innovative hospitality experiences and stronger community outreach.
The hotel’s General Manager, Isaac Okpoti Adjei, made this known at the hotel’s 15th Anniversary Press Soirée on Friday, August 14, where the hotel officially unveiled its anniversary logo and launched activities to commemorate the milestone.
According to Mr. Adjei, the anniversary marks not only a celebration of the hotel’s journey but also the beginning of a new chapter focused on bringing premium hospitality closer to the wider community.
He noted that when Mövenpick entered the Ghanaian market 15 years ago, the hospitality industry was significantly different, with only one five-star hotel operating in the country at the time. The hotel therefore sought to introduce an international premium experience while adapting its services to the needs of the Ghanaian market.
Mr. Adjei said Mövenpick has since worked to challenge the perception that five-star hospitality is accessible only to high-income customers by developing tailor-made offerings for individuals, families and businesses.

He added that the hotel has also expanded its flexibility in hosting weddings, corporate functions and international events, while maintaining international standards of service.
Building on Ghanaian heritage
Mr. Adjei also highlighted the hotel’s connection to the former Ambassador Hotel, whose legacy remains an important part of Ghana’s hospitality history.
He said Mövenpick has sought to combine that heritage with the standards of an international hospitality brand, creating an identity that reflects both global excellence and Ghanaian culture.
Looking ahead, he said the hotel would place greater emphasis on innovation, community engagement and new products and activities designed to bring the hotel closer to the public.
“For the next five to 15 years, expect nothing but the best in terms of tailor-made products, activities that are also closer to the community, and an outreach to ensure that we give back to the community,” he said.
Anniversary offers for customers
As part of the celebrations, Mövenpick is also introducing special offers around the number 15.

Mr. Adjei said groups of 15 customers could qualify for special anniversary packages, including a 15 per cent discount on selected brunch experiences. Similar offers will apply to corporate meetings, conferences and other group activities that meet the anniversary requirement.
Investing in people
Beyond customer experience, the General Manager identified employee empowerment as critical to the future of Ghana’s hospitality industry.
He said service excellence depends heavily on employees who are confident, motivated and genuinely passionate about their work. He therefore urged hospitality businesses to create supportive working environments and invest in their teams.
Mr. Adjei further noted that Ghana’s culture of welcoming and accommodating people gives the country a natural advantage in hospitality, but employees must be adequately supported to translate that advantage into consistent professional service.
He also stressed the wider economic importance of the hospitality industry, saying a stronger sector could contribute to government revenue while creating employment and opportunities for skills development.
As Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra begins its next chapter, Mr. Adjei said the focus will remain on combining international hospitality standards with Ghanaian culture while making the hotel increasingly accessible and connected to the community.
“Throughout the weeks and then months and the next 15 years, expect nothing but innovation and closeness to the community,” he said.
