Kweku Addo
Ghanaian streamer and content creator, Kweku Addo, has opened up about how he runs his platform, revealing that he rarely charges or pays guests who appear on his streams.
Speaking candidly during a recent live session, Kweku Addo said supporting other creators and artistes sometimes cost him, stressing that most of his collaborations are done out of love and mutual support.
According to Kweku Addo, many of the big names and personalities who have appeared on his stream did so for free. “Most of my streams were free. Geh Geh stream like this, now I didn’t spend a dime on it bro. I’m not even gonna lie,” he said.
He cited examples, mentioning artistes like Medikal and Larruso as some of the biggest names he’s hosted. “Medikal is one of the greatest artistes that I’ve hosted on my stream. One call, save and no pay. Larruso too, bro,” he disclosed.
Kweku also referenced Efia Odo’s proposed “sleepover stream” and said he reached out with the expectation that it would be a support-based collaboration, not a paid feature. “There are some streams that actually cost me. I’m not even gonna lie. Some people, they want to do like ‘oh we are supporting you,’ but we don’t want to come for it like we are charging you. That kind of vibe. You feel me?” he added.
The streamer emphasised that his goal is to build community and give upcoming and established acts a platform, without the pressure of payments. He also shouted out supporters like Mama Pat for streaming with him.
