Two persons have been confirmed dead, while two others reportedly lost their legs in a horrific accident at Amangoase on the Kumasi-Bechem Highway.
The accident involved a KIA truck and a Benz bus with registration number AS 6129-X, which reportedly crashed head-on, leaving several occupants trapped in the mangled vehicles.
The victims were said to have sustained severe injuries in the crash.
An eyewitness, Mr. Atuahene, who spoke to the DAILY GUIDE, said the accident occurred on Friday afternoon.
According to him, workers of Kofi Job Construction Company, using heavy-duty machinery, rushed to the scene and helped to rescue the victims trapped in the wreckage.
He said the rescue operation was ongoing when personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived at the scene to assist.
Mr. Atuahene disclosed that the bodies of the deceased had been conveyed to the hospital for preservation, while the injured victims are also receiving medical attention at the same facility.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known, as investigations were ongoing at the time of filing this report.
