Engineer Regiment Rides High

Officers and Men of the 48 Engineer Regiment have earned a feather for themselves after their feat in clearing the proposed Accra to Kumasi Highway of vegetation.

They were assigned the task with an estimated timing of twenty weeks, nineteen of which have been done.

So far, they have cleared 175.6 kilometres of the right of way in preparation for the main construction of the project to commence.

It is the first time that this civil engineering segment of the Ghana Army have been engaged to undertake this purely civilian task.

The sappers, alias for this regiment, are always one step ahead as their motto stands ‘One Step Ahead’ reads.

They are noted for their bailey bridge construction and constitute an important segment for the Army’s movement.
