Some residents of the Ahanta West Constituency of the Western Region have called on a Multimedia Group journalist and a native of the area, Kojo Brace, to contest the Ahanta West seat in the next parliamentary elections.
The residents disclosed that if Kojo Brace decides to contest the seat, they will vote massively for him to represent them in Parliament.
They mentioned that Kojo Brace, popularly known as ‘Ahanta Pele’, is committed to the area’s local development.
“Even as a journalist, he has started supporting the area with some projects. And as a home boy, we believe he can do more if he represents as in the country’s legislative assembly,” they pointed out.
The residents were speaking to DAILY GUIDE in separate interviews after participating in a walk dubbed “Walk with Ahanta Pele,” which attracted a massive turnout on Saturday at Agona-Nkwanta.
The event brought together residents of Ahanta West and beyond. The walk commenced from Aboadi, through Agona Fie and ended at the forecourt of Baidoo Bonsoe Senior High Technical School amidst brass band music.
The event attracted members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and some Ahanta West Constituency executives of the party.
Also present were some executives and stalwarts of the NPP in the Sekondi Constituency, as well as the media.
Multimedia Group personalities like Lawyer Osei Bonsu, popularly known as O.B., host of Ekosii Sen, was present to lend his support.
The participants later joined an aerobics session at the Baidoo Bonsoe Senior High Technical School to bring the day’s activities to a close.
Later in an interview, Kojo Brace explained that the essence of the walk was to “bring our people together and exercise together.”
He noted that the event was going to be regular at the zonal level in Ahanta West. On the call for him to contest the seat, Ahanta Pele made it clear that his decision “will be made known very soon.”
Mr. Brace expressed gratitude everyone, particularly, the youth, who made the event successful, adding, “But for you, this would not have been possible.”
“There were drizzles in the morning, but people defied it to be part of this momentous occasion. It speaks volumes. And I am very grateful.
“Ahanta, Western Region and Ghana, my Team and I are eternally grateful. God bless everyone. Let us keep the momentum building,” he indicated.
