Dr. Frank Amoakohene with ex-President Kufuor
THE ASHANTI Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has held fruitful talks with former President John Agyekum Kufuor, who left political office about 18 years ago.
The two dignitaries, reportedly, discussed appropriate ways which would help to ensure the rapid and effective development of Kumasi and Ashanti Region in general.
According to reports, their talks, which were held in camera, was mainly about educational and road construction works being undertaken by government in the Ashanti Region.
For Instance, ex-President Kufuor and Dr. Amoakohene talked at length about the Sofoline Interchange road project, which was started during Kufuor’s administration.
They also discussed the Prempeh College, located at Sofoline, and the Osei Tutu Senior High School (SHS), which coincidentally are both alma mater of Mr. Kufuor.
Dr. Amoakohene, who posted his encounter with Mr. Kufuor on his Facebook page, said his engagement with the ex-president was fruitful and eye-opener for him, noting that the knowledge he had acquired will positively impact his life.
“At an engagement with H.E. Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, we discussed the Sofoline Interchange, the garages in front of Prempeh College, and ongoing works to improve mobility and accessibility within the area.
“We also discussed Osei Tutu Senior High School, where he began his secondary education before proceeding to Prempeh College. Both schools currently have GETFund projects ongoing, to enhance teaching and learning,” he wrote.
