The New Patriotic Party (NPP), has announced that election of its national officers scheduled to take place across 31 polling stations will begin with proposed constitutional amendments at 9:00 a.m. followed by the election of national officers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
A statement signed and issued by the Chairman of the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC), Frederick Opare Ansah, said delegates will elect officers to nine positions.
These are the National Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, National Organiser, National Women’s Organiser, National Youth Organiser, National Nasara Organiser, National Treasurer and National Communications Director.
It said the Electoral Commission (EC) will conduct the elections and verify delegates before they are allowed to vote, adding that delegates should have their names on the official delegates’ register and present one valid identification document to establish their eligibility with accepted documents such as Voter ID card, Ghana Card or NPP party card.
“Each delegate seeking to vote must have his or her name on the delegates’ register and present one valid identification document: a Voter ID card, Ghana Card, or NPP party card,” the statement disclosed.
“Delegates are advised to bring one of these identification documents and allow sufficient time for verification before voting begins,” the statement added.
The committee has also directed all constituency, regional and national officers to ensure that delegates under their respective jurisdictions are adequately informed about the arrangements advising delegates to go and vote with their identification documents as well as allow sufficient time for verification before voting begins.
Four aspirants including former Chairman of the party, Paul Afoko; former General Secretary John Boadu; former Minister of Energy, Boakye Agyarko; and former Second National Vice Chairman, Sammy Crabbe are vying for the National Chairman position, while Justin Kodua Frimpong, who is seeking a second term, is contesting with individuals including former Deputy Minister of Housing, Eugene Boakye Antwi and former Deputy Information Minister Sylvester Tetteh and the current National Treasurer of the party, Charles Dwamena.
