A versatile broadcast journalist, Samuel Kojo Brace, has declared his intention to represent the people of the Ahanta West Constituency in the Western Region in Parliament on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The former employee of the Multimedia Group declared, “I will contest the parliamentary primaries of the NPP in the Ahanta West Constituency ahead of the 2028 general election.”

It would be recalled that the media personality, popularly known as ‘Ahanta Pele’, recently organised a walk dubbed “Walk with Ahanta Pele” which attracted thousands of residents of Ahanta West.

Making his intention known at a press conference at Agona-Nkwanta, capital of the Ahanta West Municipality, Kojo Brace disclosed that he has resigned from his job and has decided to serve his people.

“I have resigned from active journalism to pursue the Ahanta dream. I will file my nomination when the NPP opens the process. I want to serve the people of Ahanta well,” he stated.

He maintained that he is poised to recapture the Ahanta West seat for the NPP in the next parliamentary election.

Mr. Brace said his decision followed repeated calls from certain individuals, and stressed that he had taken his time to consider the move before making it public.

He noted that his desire is to contribute to the development of the constituency, particularly by supporting entrepreneurship and job creation.

“We need to move forward. We need to develop this area. And I am ever prepared and ready with the requisite ideas to ensure that we move this constituency in the direction it has to go,” he pointed out.

He promised to facilitate and ensure that many of the interested youth set up their own businesses, adding, “This will help to lift ourselves from poverty to prosperity.”

“We will work together to create an enabling environment that would attract entrepreneurs and expand opportunities for residents,” he stressed.

Mr. Brace also appealed to the NPP delegates in the Ahanta West Constituency to support and elect him as their candidate during the party’s primaries.

“The elephant party (NPP) is the only political party that delivers what it promises, and I am proud to be a member of the elephant party,” he stated.

He described the NPP’s 2028 flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as the best leader Ghana needs at the moment.

“Our flagbearer is not only very intelligent but humble. He introduced many initiatives as the country’s vice president, including the gold for oil programme and the domestic gold purchase programme which have benefited the country in many ways,” he added.
