Calvin Fosu and Odo Broni with other members of the family
Ghanaian highlife legend Daddy Lumba’s legacy is set to receive another major tribute as his son, Calvin Fosu, announces a concert marking the first anniversary of the musician’s passing.
The event, dubbed the Daddy Lumba Legacy Concert, is scheduled for December 19, 2026, at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
Calvin announced the concert in a TikTok video, urging fans and well-wishers of his late father to join the family for an evening dedicated to his music and contributions to Ghanaian culture.
According to Calvin, the event will provide an opportunity for fans to come together to remember Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, while celebrating the music that made him one of Ghana’s most celebrated highlife musicians.
“On the 19th of December, I plead with you all to come and support us on behalf of our late father, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, also known as Daddy Lumba, to celebrate his one-year memorial at UPSA,” he said.
He described the planned gathering as a night of music, celebration, and memories centred on the life and legacy of the late musician.
Daddy Lumba’s extensive body of work has continued to influence generations of Ghanaian musicians and music lovers, with his songs remaining popular years after their release.
The legacy concert is therefore expected to serve not only as a memorial but also as a celebration of the lasting impact of his music and the place he occupies in Ghana’s highlife history.
