Ghana’s Black Meteors will face Libya in the second qualifying round of the TotalEnergies CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2027.
The two sides will meet over two legs between November 9 and 17, 2026, with Ghana travelling to Libya for the first leg before hosting the North Africans in the return fixture.
Libya advanced to the second round after defeating Togo 4-1 on aggregate in the preliminary stage. They drew 1-1 away in Lomé before securing a convincing 3-0 victory at home.
Ghana received a bye into the second round and will now begin their qualification campaign against Libya.
Should the Black Meteors progress, they will face either Equatorial Guinea or Niger in the final qualifying round, scheduled for March 22-30, 2027.
The three-round qualifying process will determine the seven teams that join hosts Egypt at the eight-team U-23 AFCON finals.
Qualification would also give Ghana a chance to return to the Olympics, with the Black Meteors last featuring at the men’s Olympic football tournament at the 2004 Athens Games.
