A book chronicling Ghana’s cybersecurity journey has received international recognition after being selected for exhibition at the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The book, ‘The Republic: A Professional Journey, Ghana’s Cybersecurity and the Making of a Role Model Country’ – a professional autobiography by the former Director-General of Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority, Dr. Albert Antwi-Boasiako, was among a select group of publications featured at the Congress which attracted more than 5,000 participants from 97 countries from September 26 to October 1, 2026.

Published in November 2025, the book provides a first-hand account of Ghana’s cybersecurity development, including the contributions of key actors and the evolution of institutions, policies and initiatives that have shaped the country’s cybersecurity landscape.

Its selection followed a recommendation by members of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) community.

In a letter, the Chair of the 34th Session of the CCPCJ, Jose Antonio Zabalgoitia, said the book was among those that “remind us of the values, courage, determination and resilience of authentic heroes from all over the world whose actions are a source of inspiration and remind us that the main objective of our collective work is to attain just and peaceful societies in all our nations.

He described the book as a valuable addition to the exhibition, which seeks to strengthen international cooperation in addressing public security challenges.

Following the Congress, a copy of the book has been retained in a library in Abu Dhabi as part of the historical collections of the CCPCJ.

Reacting to the honour, Dr. Antwi-Boasiako said: “THE REPUBLIC is a record of work that was never mine alone. It reflects the efforts of many colleagues, partners, and public service officials who helped build Ghana’s cybersecurity foundations. To see the book being selected by the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice was entirely unexpected, and I accept the honour on behalf of everyone who shared in that journey.”

The exhibition provided an international platform for sharing Ghana’s cybersecurity experience, which has seen the country rise to become a Tier-1 role model country for Africa and the Global South.
