The fire scene
A fire outbreak has destroyed a seven-bedroom house and all the household appliances that were being kept in it.
The heartbreaking incident, according to reports, happened at Tanoso in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti region around 2pm on Wednesday.
The exact cause of the blaze was not immediately known but eyewitnesses in the area are suspecting gas explosion as the possible cause of the fire.
According to multiple sources, they heard a loud blast in the house and it was immediately followed by fire.
They said some people in Tanoso, which is a densely populated area, tried their best to quench the inferno but all their efforts were in vain.
Realising that they could not bring the fire under control, the people placed a distress call to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) for assistance.
According to them, the fire fighters rushed to the scene and managed to quench the blaze within a short period of time.
When the paper visited the fire scene on Wednesday evening, the fire victims were counting their losses. They appealed to the government for support.
Meanwhile, the firemen were still investigating the cause of the fire.
