The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has expressed concern after Division Two club Koforidua City FC were involved in a road accident at Saforo, near Adawso, while travelling to honour their Matchday 2 fixture against Shacor Super Stars.
The Eastern Region side’s injured players and officials were taken to the Mampong Hospital for treatment and were discharged a few hours later, a development the GFA said it was relieved to learn.
The association extended its support and solidarity to the players, technical staff and management of the club, as well as their families and supporters, during the difficult moment. It also wished all those injured a speedy and full recovery.
Eastern Regional Football Association Chairman Linford Asamoah Boadu and his executives, together with GFA Foundation Director Malcolm Frazier Appeadu, will visit the players and technical staff at their secretariat in Koforidua on Monday, November 2, 2026, to offer support on behalf of the association.
The GFA added that its leadership will continue to monitor the situation and provide the necessary assistance to the club.
