The Member of Parliament (MP) for Atiwa East Constituency in the Eastern Region, Abena Osei-Asare, has asked students writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to do their best to pass well.

According to her, the students need to show appreciation to the Akufo-Addo-led government for providing infrastructure and other relevant materials to ensure that they get quality education.

She said this during her tour of BECE centres in the Atiwa East District Assembly yesterday where 1614 candidates are currently participating in the examination.

Mrs. Osei-Asare encouraged the candidates to aim high and achieve their career objectives.

She prayed for the Lord to see them through advising them not to indulge in any examination malpractices.

Meanwhile, the MP also donated 600 dual desks to the District Educational Directorate to be distributed to some basic schools.

The Atiwa East District Director of Education, Pearl Leonel Acquah, who received the desks on behalf of the schools, thanked the MP for her continuous support in ensuring that education is improved.

Ms. Acquah promised to ensure the desks delivered to them are maintained and used for their purpose.

She noted that everything needed for the smooth running of the BECE in the district has been put in place and was optimistic the students would have good results.
