Elletey explaining a point to the media at the Trust Sports Emporium

 

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the African Para Games (Accra 2023), yesterday toured venues for the maiden Para Games scheduled for later this year.

It was led by Ignatius Elletey, a member of the LOC who stood in for president of African Paralympic Committee, Samson Deen, and took the media on the facility tour, beginning from the Accra Stadium, The Trust Sports Emporium (Bukom Arena), Eden Height and ended at the Legon Stadium.

He explained that venues that require renovations would be attended to ahead of the tournament.

The LOC member pointed out that his outfit is preparing feverishly for the Games.

He stated that the Eden Height venue has been earmarked for wheelchair tennis and wheelchair basketball, while the Trust Emporium will host para volleyball and para power lifting.

The Accra Stadium will be the venue for sitting volleyball and amputee football, with the Legon Stadium hosting para athletics and amputee football.

The 2023 African Paralympic Games, which will take place in Accra from September 3 to 12, will feature eight para sporting disciplines, namely; para athletics, para power lifting, para taekwondo, wheelchair tennis, wheelchair basketball, goal ball, sitting volleyball, and blind football.
