Ishmael Ashitey presenting the keys to the bus to Darlington Churchill

Greater Accra Regional Minister Ishmael Ashitey has, on behalf of the government, presented a 15-seater Nissan Urvan bus valued at GH¢176,430 to the Accra Rehabilitation Centre.

Presenting the bus to the management of the centre at Adabraka, the regional minister stated that the presentation forms part of government’s effort at helping to solve the acute transportation challenges being faced by the centre.

He indicated government’s excitement for the presentation because it was a proposal put through by the management of the centre for a means of transport which would help transport both staff and students for field engagements and other official duties.

The minister also explained that government would fast-track the proposal of 26 other rehabilitation centres nationwide to provide their requests as part of efforts of ensuring that the centres have adequate logistics to enhance their operations.

“This presentation is a fact that the Nana Akufo-Addo government is a listening government and always ready to listen and act on proposals of the citizenry, especially persons with disabilities (PWDs) so that they can earn decent living as well as contribute to building the nation,” he revealed.

Mr. Ashitey further urged the management of the centre to take proper care of the bus by ensuring prompt maintenance so that both the centre and nation benefit from its services.

The Head of the Accra Rehabilitation Centre, Darlington Churchill, expressed management’s appreciation to government for its prompt response in providing the vehicle.
