The entertainment industry is mourning following the death of musician and backing vocalist Ekua Adadzewa, popularly known as Adez.
The former TV3 Mentor 2 contestant died in the early hours of Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
Music producer Fred Kyei Mensah (Fredyma) announced the sad news, prompting an outpouring of tributes from colleagues and fans.
Adez was last seen in public about a week before her death when she attended the funeral of the mother of fellow vocalist SHE at the State House.
The Mentor star gained public recognition about 19 years ago as a contestant on Mentor 2, where her vocal talent earned her a following.
After the reality show, Adez established herself as a backing vocalist, working with several Ghanaian artistes on live performances and studio projects.
She also became a familiar voice on commercial jingles, lending her vocals to campaigns for brands, artistes and other projects.
Her sudden death has left colleagues and fans mourning a vocalist whose voice became part of several musical and commercial productions in Ghana.
