The Diamondfield Ghana Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) has announced the establishment of the Adventist College of Health Sciences at Akyem Batabi in the Eastern Region.
President of the Diamondfield Ghana Conference, Pastor Dr. Seth Nyarko Asare, announced this during the 2026 Oda West District Annual Camp Meeting, held from August 18 to 23, 2026, at the Advent Reformed Institute at Kade-Subi in the Eastern Region.
Pastor Dr. Nyarko Asare said the Adventist College of Health Sciences is expected to commence operations in October 2026.
The college, he stated, will offer diploma programmes in areas including Medical Laboratory Technology, Nutrition and Environmental Health.
According to the Conference President, the establishment of the college forms part of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities, equipping young people with professional skills, and contributing to the country’s human resource needs, particularly in the health sector.
He further disclosed that the Diamondfield Ghana Conference has plans to establish a College of Education at Asamankese, following the donation of land by the Chief of Asamankese, Osabarima Adu Darko III.
The proposed College of Education, he explained, would further strengthen the church’s contribution to education, teacher training, and professional development in Ghana.
Pastor Dr. Nyarko Asare also disclosed that the Conference was developing employment and livelihood initiatives aimed at supporting church members, particularly young people, to acquire practical skills and engage in productive activities.
The 2026 Oda West District Annual Camp Meeting, held under the theme, “Integrated for Mission, Grounded in the Bible and Focused on the Mission,” brought together church members, ministers, and leaders for a period of spiritual growth, fellowship, worship, and renewed commitment to the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Apart from the President of the Diamondfield Ghana Conference, Pastor Dr. Seth Nyarko Asare, other church leaders who also participated in the 2026 Annual Camp Meeting are Communication Director of the South East Ghana Union Mission (SEGUM), Pastor Dr. Samuel Kwaku Dorgbetor, Pastor Prince Omari Kodua, Pastor Emmanuel Asamoah and Pastor Hezekiah Ntoso.
Others are Pastor Isaac Appiah, Pastor Isaac Manu and Executive Secretary of Diamondfield Ghana Conference and District Pastor who also doubles as the host, Pastor Philip Kwaku Dadzie.
The organisers expressed gratitude to God for his guidance throughout the programme, describing the camp meeting as an important opportunity for spiritual renewal and commitment to the mission of the church.
Pastor Dr. Nyarko Asare said the initiatives of the Diamondfield Ghana Conference demonstrate its commitment to holistic development, particularly through investments in education, healthcare, skills development, employment opportunities, and others aimed at improving the lives of church members and the community as a whole.
