The Chiefs and People of the Avenor Traditional area have stressed the need to retain their Municipal Chief Executive, Leo-Nelson Adzidogah.
According to them, Mr. Adzidogah popularly referred to as ‘Homeboy’ have demonstrated good leadership in the last four years and hence deserves another term to see the President and the Municipality’s vision through.
If the wishes of the Chiefs are to come through, the President will have to re-nominate Mr. Adzidogah for the assembly members to duly confirm his re-nomination. As much as this request may not be automatic, the people believe that ‘Homeboy’ has unfinished business as far as the development of the area is concerned, hence should be retained.
The Paramount Chief of the Avenor Traditional Area, Torgbe Dorglo Anumah VI reiterated this in a recent interaction at Akatsi, the capital of the Akatsi South Municipality.
He noted that the MCE and the Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa have been a good pair who have brought development to the area and fostered a strong bond with the traditional leaders too.
Torgbe Dorglo Anumah VI who is also the President of the Avenor Traditional Council and member of the National House of Chiefs recounted that in a recent visit to the Regional Minister, Dr. Letsa, it became clear that the area had a lot to be grateful for.
He said the good working relationship between their MCE and Regional Minster culminated in the elevation of Akatsi South into a Municipality and Creation of the Avenor Traditional Council after several years of fruitless requests.
Other projects being undertaken under the leadership of Homeboy include the ongoing improvement of Akatsi town roads and plans to modernize the Akatsi Market. The last four years has seen the construction of several CHPS Compounds to improve health care delivery in the largely rural and agrarian communities of the municipality.
More so, communities that shared water with animals now have potable water due to the number of boreholes provided under the leadership of Mr. Adzidogah. They were hopeful that the completion of the Business Development Resource Centre will support a lot of the youth in their entrepreneurial journey.
The Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa during that visit thanked the Chiefs and people for the gratitude showed the MCE, himself and President Akufo-Addo.
He assured them that all their concerns will be duly addressed. He urged them to maintain a good working relationship and support the development agenda of the government to benefit the people. He assured them that his doors were always open likewise that of the MCE, Leo-nelson Adzidogah.
