Alan Grabs Kwesi Pratt’s In Law As Running Mate

Elijah Kwame Owusu Danso

In a surprise move, a failed NPP Presidential aspirant who has gone independent, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, has selected Elijah Kwame Owusu Danso as his running mate for the upcoming December 7 elections.

What makes this choice even more intriguing is that Owusu Danso is the son-in-law of veteran journalist and managing editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr.

Owusu Danso, a lawyer by profession, was among 15 people allegedly shortlisted to partner Alan before he got the nod.
He expressed his gratitude to Kyerematen for the opportunity to partner with him in the presidential race.

In a statement released on September 16, 2024, he acknowledged the trust placed in him and pledged his commitment to the cause of transforming Ghana’s economy and politics.

This development comes on the heels of Kyerematen’s announcement of his candidacy under the banner of the Movement for Change and Alliance for Revolutionary Change.

His decision to choose Owusu Danso, an unknown politician as his running mate has sparked interest among political observers, who see this as a strategic move to appeal to the youth and tap into Pratt’s influence.

Kwesi Pratt Jnr, a figure in Ghanaian journalism, has been a vocal advocate for political change and has been critical of the country’s two main political parties.

His son-in-law’s selection as Kyerematen’s running mate raises questions about Pratt’s potential involvement in the campaign and whether his influence will translate into votes for the independent candidate.
