On March 14 next year, the very first African Sports Legends Award is expected to rock the capital, Accra, DAILY GUIDE SPORTS has learnt.
The event is being put together by My Sports Organization and is aimed at honoring sports greats on the continent.
Legends like ex-presidents- John Rawlings and John Kufuor and other personalities like Ibrahim Sunday, Roger Miller, Abedi Pele, DK Poison, Azumah Nelson, Mike Ahey, Haile Gebrselassie, George Oppong Weah, Kwesi Nyantakyi, Stephen Appiah, among others would be decorated with various degrees of honours for their respective contributions to football development on the continent and beyond.
My Sports Organization CEO, Anim Addo of UTV fame said “It’s high time we celebrate those who made our continent proud. All is set for the maiden edition next year. We are talking to some sponsors who have bought into the idea of honouring those who once upon a time flew the continent’s flag very high.”
