Laila Issaka
It is hard to lately find virgins who are above 24 years old, but Miss Ghana runner-up Laila Issaka says she is still a virgin at the age of 25.
She told NEWS-ONE that she has waited that long because “I am waiting till that man puts that ring on my finger.”
Laila, who took part in the 2018 edition of Miss Ghana pageant, beat several others to win the first runner-up position.
She represented the Northern Region of Ghana at the pageant and made the region proud.
The Koforidua Technical University graduate comes from Sakasaka in the Northern Region.
She enjoys cooking and working out. She believes in hard work and optimism.
She has passion for empowering women and children, and joining Miss Ghana 2018 was a great opportunity for her to pursue that dream.
As a virgin, she is expected to encourage other young girls to stay away from sex and focus on their education and careers.
“I got GH¢100 from TV & radio personality Akumaa Mama Zimbi and Ms Inna Mariam Patty as a token to congratulate me for my decision to remain a virgin when I first came for Miss Ghana auditions,” Laila revealed.
She added that she is not breaking her virginity anytime soon until she is married.
Laila’s disclosure comes after negative publicities that the Miss Ghana brand has allegedly been an escort agency; a claim that the organiser, Exclusive Events Ghana, has denied.
Laila has been with the brand for a year and is still a virgin.
“I want to tell other young ladies who want to be part of Miss Ghana that people say a lot of stuff. For instance, people who don’t like you will always go to people who don’t like you to ask about you. You can just imagine what they say about you to them. It will definitely not be a positive thing. Most of the things you hear about Miss Ghana are not true. It is just hearsay. If you want to be part of Miss Ghana pageant, don’t let anyone stop you. Go for it,” she advised ladies who want to be part of Miss Ghana 2019.
