The installation of 1,800 streetlights have begun in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency, Frank Annoh-Dompreh.
The project is being undertaken under the MP’s “Operation Let There Be Light” in the constituency.
So far, the MP has provided over 1,000 streetlights to about 20 electoral areas in the constituency.
Some of the beneficiary communities include Djankrom East and West, Nsawam Central, Amoakrom, Adoagyiri, Fotobi, Sakyikrom, Ahwerease, Ahodjo, Asikafoamantem, Apremusu Kwasikrom amongst others.
Mr. Annoh-Dompreh said that the installation of streetlights is a fulfillment of a promise he made to residents.
The project is ongoing and will continue until the last community is served, the MP disclosed.
The MP has assured people living around Kings Bar, the Prisons Main Entrance and Nsawam Total Filling Station that they would not be left out in the provision of streetlights.
The project has brought smiles to the faces of residents as evidenced by the warm reception accorded the MP on Sunday night at Ahwerease.
The project has positively impacted the lives of the constituents by reducing crime, snake bites, as well as boosting economic activities in the area.
