Another Ho Girl Missing

A 19-year-old girl has been reported missing in Ho, the Volta regional capital barely a week after a similar incident.

The girl who is said to be living in Sokode-Gbogame near Ho and identified as Esther Mawufemor was reported missing on Friday, January 25, 2019, a relative said.

According to a source at the Ho Municipal Police Station, 60-year-old Cynthia Senyo Arku reported the case to the Police.

Madam Cynthia said Esther who originally lived in Kade in the Eastern Region moved to Sokode about a year ago to live with her as a maid.

She said Esther went missing a week ago and all efforts to locate her had proved futile, hence the report made to the Police last Friday,

Esther, who is believed to be about 5-feet tall and dark in complexion, is known to be of a good character.

The source said, the preliminary investigations are yet to be completed hence it is not clear if it is conclusive to describe it as a kidnapping case. “For now she is missing until we have further and better evidence.”

Kidnapping is becoming rife in the country in recent times. The most topical one is the reported kidnapping of three young girls in the Western Region for weeks now. It has been three months and the Police are yet to locate the girls.

Ho Alleged Kidnapping

About a week ago, thus last Monday, January, 21, 2019, a 17-year-old girl was also reported missing in Ho when she went to pay her school fees at the bank.

The girl was found a day later at Aflao in the Ketu South District and has since been reunited with her family.

The family had alleged kidnapping after receiving messages from her phone claiming she was kidnapped and going to be used for rituals.

However, DAILY GUIDE sources indicated that the lady who is a student of Sonrise Christian High School was seen in the company of her classmate when she was found.

She was also found with her phone and a bag containing her personal belonging.
