Armed Forces Distribute PPEs To Schools

The Ghana Armed Forces are overseeing the distribution of personal protective equipment to schools.

Some schools are expected to reopen on Monday, June 15, 2020.

Final year students in University, SHS and JHS students are those resuming school on Monday in line with President Nana Akufo-Addo’s directive.

Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah briefed the media at the air force base in Accra on Saturday, June 13, ahead of the dispatch of the PPE.

He says the Ghana Armed Forces will be responsible for distributing to regional capitals for onward distributions to the schools.

He says the PPE are to cover all tertiary schools, and that similar distributions would be made for JSH and SHS.

He stated that President Nana Akufo-Addo set up a committee to oversee the distribution which is chaired by the Senior Minister.

He stated that first phase is for tertiary institutions, and that it covers all tertiary institutions plus allowance for contingency.
