Arsenal Fear Aaron Ramsey Could Be Out for 3 Weeks With Hamstring Injury

Arsenal have been hit with yet another injury blow, with reports that midfielder Aaron Ramsey could miss around three weeks with a hamstring injury picked up in the Gunners’ defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

Arsene Wenger admitted after the match that he had ‘pushed’ the Welshman into service for the game, not allowing him as much time to recover from his Euro 2016 exploits as teammates Laurent Koscielny and Mesut Ozil, and hinted that the rush may have been the cause of the problem.

Ramsey was replaced by Santi Cazorla around the hour mark in Sunday’s eventful game, which was won 4-3 by the visitors, and the Mail report that the muscle problem is likely to see him sit out a trip to champions Leicester on Saturday, as well as the visit of Watford the following week.

The Welshman, who starred for his country in their unlikely run to the semi-finals of Euro 2016, could be set to return after the international break which follows the Watford fixture – leaving him set to return against Southampton a full four weeks after sustaining the injury.

Pressed after the match on his decision to leave Granit Xhaka on the bench, having left Ozil, Koscielny and Giroud out entirely, Wenger argued: “Look, him and Ramsey [and others] – they all came back later.

“I pushed Ramsey in and he got injured. It’s a very difficult situation to sort out because the players come back late because of the Euros and, on top of that, you play them and they get injured. If you don’t play them you miss them.”
