Asadu Royal Seed and Waste Management Ltd has received an African Governance and Corporate Leadership award in waste management, drainage clearing and site clearing from the Institute for Government Research Leadership Technology and African Environmental Health Innovation in Abuja, Nigeria.

The event took place in Abuja on Friday, October 28, this year.

This is the third award won by the waste management company this year.

It won the first award at the West Africa SME International awards while the second was at the Otumfuo’s Excellence Awards.

Speaking to BUSINESS GUIDE after the award was presented to the company, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Asadu Royal Seed and Waste Management Ltd, Edward Asadu, said the company has worked very hard to get to this level and contribute to the country’s economy.

He said the company is looking for international partners to go into recycling of waste and expressed the hope that the necessary investment climate would be created to get more international investors to partner local investors

He also called on government to offer tax rebate to local companies who are employing Ghanaians and contributing to the growth of the economy.

In a related development, Mr Asadu, who won the Ashanti Regional Best Farmer, last year, has urged government to offer rewards to farmers that would help them expand their farms and employ more people.

“The government can decide to give loans, combine harvesters, tractors and other farming implements to farmers in a bid to expand their plantations,” he said, adding that the government should focus its attention on the cultivation of cocoa, palm oil plantation and teaks, which could help improve the country’s economy.
