And for their brilliance, the winners took home a 55inch 4k android smart TV, while the second and the third placed sides received a DELL 15inch laptop computer and a 400L chest freezer respectively. A total of 46 quality tournament footballs were given out to the 16 participating schools, an android smart phone for the best player of the tournament and a Hifi sound system for the top scorer of the tournament.

The sole sponsor, Korean Residents Association in Ghana’s officials, motivated the young talented soccer players in senior high schools in Tema, Nungua, Ashaiman and Kpone districts to aspire for greater heights.

The tournament has been solely sponsored by the Korean Residents Association in Ghana for the past 10 years for the Senior High School football teams in Tema, Nungua, Ashaiman and Kpone districts. Steven Han, the chairman of the association mentioned that the Korean community finds joy in sponsoring the youth in sports to realize their full potential. He also urged other organisations and groups in Ghana to sponsor similar youth events and players in other districts. Han said “Football is by far the most popular sports worldwide and Korea has experienced a nationwide positive socio-economic impact of football when they went to the semi-finals of World Cup 2002. Sponsor the youth now and they will make Ghana proud in a few years.”
