Odeneho Kwaku Appiah aka COKA,
The Ashanti Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has secured a sponsor for this year’s annual end-of-year party which is scheduled to take place in Kumasi, in December.
The recently elected Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, affectionately called ‘COKA’ has indicated his readiness to sponsor the event.
COKA announced his decision to sponsor the end-of-year party during a well-attended press Soiree, which he organised for journalists in the region last Saturday.
According to him, his sponsorship package comprises the venue, food, drinks and all others that would make the programme grand, interesting and very memorable.
COKA stated that he is highly impressed by the cordial relationship that exists between the NPP and media practitioners in the region and expressed his desire to deepen it.
“The NPP in Ashanti region has over the years lived and worked in peace and harmony with journalists in this region and this sponsorship is aimed to deepen the relationship,” he said.
He further pointed out that the NPP would continue to contribute its quota to help promote press freedom in order to make it possible for journalists to work in peace.
COKA stated categorically that media is the fourth estate, therefore, media practitioners should be given the freedom and peace to carry out their important duties.
