COKA with Kwabena Kokofu and others
THE ASHANTI Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been gifted a large parcel of land for the construction of a modern party office in Kumasi.
The land is said to be located at Krofrom in the Manhyia South Constituency. It was given freely to the party by a loyal party person, whose identity has been kept secret.
Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, affectionately called COKA, the newly elected Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, disclosed the information to party members.
According to him, it is pathetic that the NPP doesn’t have a befitting party office in the Ashanti Region, which without doubt, is the stronghold of the party in the country.
COKA therefore said he has vowed to make sure that the party constructs its own party office to ensure the smooth and effective running of the NPP in the Ashanti Region.
“Luckily for us, a known party member, who loves the NPP with all his heart, has given a parcel of land at Krofrom in the Manhyia South Constituency to the party for an office project.
“We will consult experts to draw an ultramodern office facility for us in the coming days. We are expecting that in one month time, we shall cut the sod for construction to start,” he said.
COKA said in the meantime, the party executives have secured a plush office at Denyame, which will be used for the day-to-day management of the party until the office is built.
The newly elected Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman stated that being elected as chairman doesn’t make him the wisest person in the party, saying, “I need your support.”
“I will consult party people, especially our former regional executives, patrons and other party members for their wise counsel and direction to lead the party into affluence.
“I will practice an open-door administration whereby the views of every party member would be sought and respected. We need all hands on deck to deliver,” he said.
COKA, who recently visited Lawyer Kwabena Kokofu, his only challenger for the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman race, said the party is one family so they should get rid of divisions.
