THE UPCOMING Ashanti Regional election of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), will take place at the Agric Training Institute at Ejura.

Frederick Fredua Anto, the NPP National Vice Chairman, who made the disclosure, has stated that the venue is appropriate.

According to him, the venue has enough space to accommodate the hordes of party members, who would be drawn from the region.

Mr. Anto noted that anything that is needed to be done to make the venue ready for the big party event would be carried out.

The NPP chieftain said the organizers of the elections have put in place security measures to help make the event an incident-free affair.

He has therefore admonished any party member that is planning to cause commotion at the event venue to quickly change his mind.

According to him, the security at the event venue would be tight to the extent that nobody can get the chance to misbehave and disrupt the polls.

Mr. Anto stated that, for the first time, delegates of the party would be given accreditation cards, with their pictures firmly embossed on them.

He explained on Nhyira Fm that the new measure is geared towards preventing imposters from using delegate’s cards to get access into the election venue.

Mr. Anto said the polls would take place on April 21, adding that journalists would also be issued with cards with their pictures embossed on them.

Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka ‘Wontumi’ who was been hotly challenged by Asare Bediako is expected to return unopposed following the withdrawal of his only challenger.

Asare Bediako, the former Asokwa Constituency chairman, bowed out of the race after he tendered in his resignation letter without giving the reasons for the decision.
