THE ASOKWA Constituency New Patriotic Party (NPP) is united and poised to campaign and win more votes for the party, to retain political power on December 7.

This became manifest when the party, led by its Member of Parliament (MP), Patricia Appiagyei, who is also the NPP parliamentary candidate, organised a mega health walk.

Dubbed ‘Let’s walk the breaking the eight talk health walk’, the programme was attended by dignitaries and party faithful.

Patricia Appiagyei’s main contender during the Asokwa NPP parliamentary primary, Edmund Kyei, who is an ex-First Vice Chairman of the party in the area, also graced the health walk.

Edmund Kyei’s presence at the health walk was an evidence that the Asokwa NPP has been able to put the past behind them and are united and ready for battle.

Showing political maturity, Edmund Kyei proudly walked beside Patricia Appiagyei aka ‘Mama Pat’ during the entire duration of the walk.

Later on, Edmund Kyei, whilst addressing the NPP members, stated emphatically that “we should vote for our flagbearer and next president of Ghana, Dr. Bawumia.

“Also, we are voting massively for our hard working MP and our parliamentary candidate, Mama Pat”. This statement was met with wild shouts of joy by the crowd.

Mr. Kyei said the NPP under President Akufo-Addo has transformed the country, noting that Dr. Bawumia is the suitable person to sustain the gains chalked so far.

He also said the NPP needs majority of seats in parliament to enable Dr. Bawumia to push his vision of developing the country further, stressing, “so let’s vote for Mama Pat to lead us.”

Edmund Kyei disclosed that even though the NPP is the clear favourite to win the next polls, the battle ahead is not easy, urging all NPP members to work hard to retain the party in power.

“Let’s do away with complacency, yes we have done well in government, but we need to campaign vigorously and retain power so we can do more for the country,” he added.
