THE New Juaben South Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region has presented a total number of 1,000 mono and dual desks and 50 teachers’ tables and chairs to the Municipal Education Directorate to aid teaching and learning in schools in the municipality.
The desks are meant to be distributed to Adweso SDA JHS, King of Glory Presby, Bonya, Adweso Mile 50 and Ada Kyeremateng junior high schools.
Isaac Appaw-Gyasi, the New Juaben South Municipal Chief Executive, during the presentation, said it was in response to a surge in enrollment due to the Free SHS flagship programme. According to him, GH¢200,000 from the assembly’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF) was used to procure the desks.
He pledged the assembly’s commitment to support the Municipal Education Directorate in the discharge of its duties to enhance teaching and learning.
Mrs. Cecilia Aboagye, Deputy Director Planning and Statistics, who received the items on behalf of the Municipal Education Directorate, commended the assembly for the swift response towards the challenges facing the schools.
