Atiwa East MP Inspects Projects, Ensuring Effective Progress In Constituency

 

Atiwa East Member of Parliament (MP), Hon Abena Osei-Asare, demonstrated her commitment to overseeing the development of her constituency by embarking on a comprehensive tour of various project sites.

The purpose of this inspection was to assess the progress of ongoing works and ensure that projects are being executed effectively and efficiently.

During her tour, MP Madam Abena Osei-Asare visited several project sites, including the construction of a new health center, the renovation of a school building, and the installation of streetlights in key areas. Accompanied by her team and local government officials, she meticulously examined each site, closely observing the work being done and engaging with contractors and project managers.

One of the sites visited was the Anyimam new TVET campus, where the construction of physical structures was reported to be more than 85 percent complete. The main building, as well as auxiliary facilities such as dormitories and workshop areas, are steadily progressing.

Another important location inspected during the tour was the main bridge at Sea-Abenaso, which connects residents on the other side of the river to the rest of the towns and cities. The MP observed the progress being made on this vital infrastructure.

In addition, Hon Abena Osei-Asare visited the Aworensua-Kwakwaduam area, where she inspected a six-unit classroom block, as well as another one in Subriso. These educational facilities are essential for providing quality education to the children in the constituency.

The MP also visited Abakoasu, where she inspected the construction of a self-initiated area police station, which was reported to be 95 percent complete. She also inspected a modern ICT laboratory with accompanying office spaces.The Coordinator of the area, Domnic Awuah Owusu, expressed gratitude for the support in the areas of ICT and security.

The inspection allowed the MP to assess the quality, timeline, and adherence to budget of each project, ensuring that resources are being utilized optimally and that the projects align with the needs of the local community. This hands-on approach demonstrates the MP’s dedication to ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective implementation of development initiatives.

During the tour, Engineer Kofi Addo, responsible for the hospital project, informed the media that the construction of the hospital is expected to be completed ahead of schedule.

A visit was also made to the Emyiresi Health Centre, where the construction of an additional and complete hospital is underway. The facility, initially slated for handover in 2024, is ahead of schedule, and preparations are being made for its handover in October 2023. The Site Engineer for the Emyiresi Hospital Project, Engineer Fiifi Kelvin, provided an update on the progress of the work.

Speaking to the media during the tour, Abena Osei Asare expressed her satisfaction with the progress made at several project sites. She commended the contractors and workers for their dedication and emphasized the importance of timely completion to enable the community to benefit from these essential facilities and services.

The MP also addressed a few concerns raised by residents during the tour. She assured the constituents that their feedback would be taken into consideration, promising to work closely with the relevant authorities to address any issues promptly and to ensure that the projects meet the expectations and needs of the community.

Abena Osei Asare, who serves as both the MP for Atiwa East and the Deputy Finance Minister, expressed her satisfaction with the progress of work, particularly at the hospital. She emphasized that her vision for the constituency aligns with the broader vision of President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo for robust growth in all sectors of the economy.

As the tour came to a close, the MP reaffirmed her commitment to continue monitoring the progress of these projects closely.

She also announced that when the NPP opens nominations, she will rerun as MP for Atiwa East to further push development in the area.
