Atiwa West Schools Get Desks, PPE

The DCE presenting the items to the GES Area Boss

District Chief Executive of the Atiwa West in the Eastern Region, Isaac Akumani Asamoah, has presented education items to the Education Directorate for onward distribution to over 30 schools in the district.

They included 985 dual desks, 100 teachers’ tables and chairs, 1,130 school uniforms and 5,000 face shields.

Presenting the items, Mr. Asamoah said he had received a series of letters from the District Education Director complaining about the shortage of furniture in some schools in the district.

He said the 985 dual desks and the 100 teachers’ furniture would help solve the shortage of desks in the needy schools in the district.

He said the assembly was going to provide more desks to all the schools to promote teaching and learning.

Mr. Asamoah said that since the Covid-19 was still on the onslaught, teachers must ensure that students were coached on the Covid-19 protocols to help curtail the spread.

He also called on parents to support the efforts of teachers and the government to help stem the tide.

The District Director at Atiwa West, Very Rev. Francis Kojo Ennuson, who received the items on behalf of the schools, said they had come at the right time.

He expressed his appreciation for the good work being exhibited by the assembly and government and urged the 30 beneficiary schools in the district to protect the items.
