Editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Malik Kweku Baako has described as ‘crude’, the recent attacks on Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo by the flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC).

Hassan Ayariga in the past week has been lambasting the NPP flagbearer, claiming among other things that he is unfit to lead the country because at age 72, he is still living in his father’s house.

“At age 72, my senior and my father, Nana Akufo-Addo, is still living in his father’s house. At this age 72, I would have retired from politics and been advising young men of this country to move this country forward and not contest with them anymore,” he was quoted as saying.

Ayariga who is noted for making Nana Akufo-Addo his main target during national electioneering campaigns promised on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Programme Tuesday to unleash more arsenals on the NPP leader before the December polls.

“We are doing politics and I have my way of doing my politics…my campaign is going to focus on everyone, if you cross my line, it’s not going to be easy…,” he said in reaction to claims by NPP MP for Assin Central, Ken Agyapong that he is unworthy of the presidency.

He thus called on the NPP leader and his supporters to get ready for him.

Political watchers have wondered at Mr Ayariga’s motives and questioned whether he is his own man or someone contracted to derail the ambitions of the three time flagbearer of the largest opposition party in Ghana.

Kweku Baako reacting to these attacks on the NPP flagebarer on Peace FM said the method being used by the APC flagbearer was ‘crude’.

“I have seen some of them attacking other presidential candidates especially Nana Addo and they are going about it in a very crude way…,” he said.

According to him, the unnecessary attacks, rather goes to confirm that Ayariga is not ready for the presidency but is instead interested in attacking Nana Addo and blocking him from achieving his vision of becoming the President of the country.

“It creates the impression that they are not seeking the ultimate, which is the presidency, they are just exposing themselves that they are not in the competition [to win]…,” he added.

On attacks on the PPP flagbearer, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom by the same person, Kweku Baako said that wasn’t necessary as Nduom was a man of integrity and was above reproach.

“I don’t support Nduom’s candidature but I think he is a man of integrity and some of the issues concerning him which they have brought forth are dead and buried…,” he said.
