Bawumia Cautions Supporters To Desist From Campaign Of Insult

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has issued a message cautioning his followers and spokespersons to refrain from engaging in insults and attacks during their campaign for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer position.

He reminded them that the contest is an internal election and emphasized that the main opponent is the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), not fellow party members.

Speaking at a meeting with party supporters in Accra, Dr Bawumia stressed the importance of maintaining a clean and united campaign, as unity is crucial in ensuring victory against the NDC in the upcoming general elections.

He called on supporters and spokespersons to avoid insulting language, emphasizing that this behavior has no place in his personality or his campaign.

“We want to unite after this election to fight against the NDC. We are one family and when the contest is over, we will come back as one family to make sure the NDC does not come to power,” Bawumia stated.

The Vice President’s message comes amidst growing tensions within the NPP as various members vie for the flagbearer position. Bawumia’s call for a clean and respectful campaign reflects his desire for party unity and a focus on defeating the NDC.

As the country prepares for the 2024 elections, Bawumia’s warning serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining a positive and inclusive political environment.

It is hoped that his message will resonate with supporters and lead to a more constructive and respectful campaign within the NPP.
