The Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is on a working visit to Japan.
As part of the visit, he is learning about the cutting-edge research to solving practical problems. He visited world famous Matso-Iwasawa Laboratory at the University of Tokyo, which focuses on deep learning and generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) with applications in areas such as healthcare, education, manufacturing and agriculture.
His second meeting was about the application of space technology and utilisation of satellite data in solving problems such as flooding, deforestation, drought stress, and crop monitoring among others.
He was accompanied by a high-powered entourage who were received by Japan’s leading space technology institutions and firms including Axelspace, Hanibashi and Cross U.
Dr. Bawumia was impressed by how closely universities, industry and government worked in harmony.
