Bawumia Rescues Ejura School – After Rainstorm Disaster

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia

PLANS ARE in the pipeline for the construction of an ultramodern dining hall project at the Ejuraman Anglican Senior High School (SHS) in the Ashanti Region.

This has been made possible following the timely intervention of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who has directed GETFund to build the dormitory.

The school, as a reminder, suffered a huge infrastructural loss when a rainstorm damaged its dining hall, leading to injuries to about 40 students some few days ago.

The chief of Ejura Traditional Area, Barima Osei Hwedie II, who doubles as the Protocol Officer at the Office of the Vice President, said he appealed to Dr. Bawumia to help the school.

According to him, the Vice President instantly accepted to help the school to get a new dormitory, saying, “He has directed GETFund to construct a new dormitory for the school.”

The traditional leader also disclosed that consultants for the project would be visiting the Ejuraman Anglican SHS campus in the coming days for inspection ahead of the project.

Barima Osei Hwedie II made the announcement when he led a delegation of Ejura Traditional Council to inspect the extent of damage in the school after the rainstorm.

On behalf of the school authorities, students and the entire residents of Ejura, the chief commended Dr. Bawumia for his kindness and willingness to help the school.

Barima Osei Hwedie II announced that the Ejura Traditional Authority has paid GH¢10,000, being the medical bills of a student, who suffered a leg fracture when the dormitory collapsed.

Even in the face of the disaster, the Ejura Chief thanked God for protecting the lives of the students and teachers, saying, “We are grateful that no death was recorded during the dangerous incident.”
