Bawumia Shakes Kasoa

Dr. Bawumia during the campaign in Kasoa

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Sunday took his presidential campaign tour to the Kasoa community in the Awutu Senya Constituency.

For close to three hours, Dr. Bawumia and the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate, Mavis Hawa Koomson, walked the nooks of the area, going through the markets, bus stations, and taxi ranks whilst entering stores and stalls to campaign for votes and exchanging pleasantries.

The people received them with open arms, minds and hearty cheers.

At a community engagement held at the Kasoa circuit of the Methodist Church, Ghana, speaker after speaker, including pastors, Imams and chiefs spoke highly of Dr. Bawumia, the NPP presidential candidate in the upcoming elections.

They also praised the government’s achievements in various sectors of the economy, such as road infrastructure, provision of potable water, health sector and many more, not to talk of the digitalisation drive which has enhanced businesses.

Spokesperson for the clergy, Reverend William Baako, said, “We have taken a closer look at your achievements as Vice President and the things you want to do, and we are going to honour you on September 28, and on the same day we will declare our support for you.”

The Muslim leaders also declared their support for Dr. Bawumia and prayed for God’s blessings on him.

“You have changed the face of politics in Ghana. We often hear insults here and there, but this time round, what you do is outline your policy. So these are the kind of leaders that we need; the politics of insults is past. The way you are going, Insha Allah 2025 you are going to lead this country,” was how the spokesman for Muslim leaders put it.

Madam Hawa Koomson could not hide her excitement at the continuous show of support and love shown her and the NPP.

She touted the various development projects the NPP government has brought since it took over the reins of governance in 2017.

She asked Ghanaians to consider the benefits of Free Senior High School (FSHS) policy and vote for the NPP come December 7, 2024.

Dr. Bawumia later commissioned the Central East regional police headquarters constructed and donated by Hawa Koomson.

He said the government intends to bring in 50,000 CCTV cameras by next year and deploy them in every district across the country.

Central East regional police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Owusu Bempah, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the chiefs and people of the area thanked the MP for the honour done them.

He complained about lack of vehicles for patrols and called for more logistics to help fight crime.

He appealed to other well-meaning Ghanaians to also come to the aid of the police in completing another ongoing project on the premises to be used for other police duties.

Dr. Bawumia ended his tour in Awutu Senya Constituency in the Central Region where he attended the Awubia festival with the NPP parliamentary candidate, Eugene Arhin.
