Bawumia Thanks Delegates For Voting NPP

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed gratitude to the members of the ruling New Patriotic Party especially the delegates for fighting for the party to secure a second term.

In a statement to the Delegates Conference of the party, the Vice President thanked the Polling Station Executives, Electoral Area Coordinators, Constituency Executives, Regional Executives, and the National Executives together with the various organs of the party, campaign teams, and all-volunteer groups for their role played in securing victory in the past election.

According to the Vice President, “the NPP is a party that believes in democracy and the contest of ideas. That is how the party has been built since its formation in 1992”.

He said, “No one should be denied the opportunity to serve the party if he or she qualifies to do so, adding that, “the NPP is undoubtedly the party with the ideas to move Ghana forward, and it is our bounden duty to ensure that the progress made over the past five years is not derailed”.

He continued that “A year ago, we came before the Ghanaian people with our message of Leadership of Service Protecting Our Progress, Transforming Ghana For All, with a plea to give us four more years to continue doing more”.

“We must all be grateful for this great feat. We could not have secured a second term without the grassroots of the party taking up the challenge and working tirelessly to ensure victory in the 2020 elections” he stated.

Dr. Bawumia noted that “From next year, the constitution of the party demands that we conduct elections at all levels of the party’s hierarchy”.

“We must continue to give opportunities to honest, dedicated, and hard-working people to selflessly steer the affairs of the party into the 2024 election”.

He added that “In doing so, we must be moderate in our campaigns, eschew divisive conducts and ensure cooperation after the election because that is the only way we will keep the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition stronger together”.

He said, “At this Conference, let us have frank, honest and forward-looking discussions on ways to make the NPP even more responsive to the needs of Ghanaians”.

“Let us continue to engage each other and foster fellow-feeling as we work hand in hand to deliver on our promises. I urge every one of the party to participate in the internal elections of the party,” he stated.

Vice President, however, thanked the Almighty God for giving the NPP another term to serve the people of Ghana.
