Daniel Mensah after his arrest
The Kpone District Police are holding a 26-year-old man suspected to be part of an armed robbery syndicate that have been terrorizing residents of Bediako and its environs in the Kpone-Katamanso District.
The culprit, Daniel Mensah, alias Ayittey, together with other accomplices, reportedly attacked some residents of Bediako, near Tema at gunpoint and robbed them of their monies and property.
They reportedly made away with four laptops, Toshiba hard external drives, pen drive, monitor, digital camera, ATM Cards, Samsung flat screen television set, Iphone 7 plus, Iphone 5s, laptop bag containing GH¢3,550, Royal motorbike and cash of GH¢160.
Information available to DAILY GUIDE indicates that last Saturday at about 10:00pm, Daniel and his accomplices, now at large, who were wielding locally manufactured pistol, cutlass, pinch bar and car jack stormed Bediako to undertake a robbery operation.
The following day at about 12:00 am, the suspects broke into another house, used a car jack to open the burglar proof and entered the room. They ordered a couple at gunpoint to surrender all their monies and valuables.
They succeeded in robbing them of the aforementioned items and subjected them to severe beatings.
Immediately after robbing them, they proceeded to another house where they broke into a kitchen and stole the Royal motorbike.
They further used the pinch bar to forcibly open the house owner’s room and robbed him of his money and property.
The suspects gave the Iphones to the victim to reset them and ordered him to provide his mobile money pin number.
However, the victim mustered courage, run out of the room with the phone and raised alarm.
While the criminal operation was ongoing, the Kpone Police Motor Patrol team, upon receiving a distress call, proceeded to the scene.
The suspects fled into a nearby bush but police combed the area and arrested Mensah.
He led police to retrieve the other items.
