Bediatuo Denies Ownership Of Sandbox

Nana Bediatuo Asante

Secretary to President Nana Akufo-Addo, Nana Bediatuo Asante, has denied ownership of the Sandbox Beach Resort.

It follows allegations by one Jeffrey Tetteh said to be leader of the Abafun delegation.

In a statement, lawyers for Bediatuo at Minkah-Premo & Co chambers described the claims as not only spurious, but also unfounded and libellous.

They said “our client states without equivocation that the allegation by the said Mr. Tetteh that he is ‘illegally claiming title to a parcel of land’ close to Sandbox Beach Resort is absolutely false.”

“The allegation that Sandbox Beach Resort belongs to our client is also false”, they stated, whiles noting with emphasis “state emphatically that our client does not own nor has any interest in Sandbox Beach Resort.”

“We further state that our client has neither acquired nor claimed title to any parcel of land
adjacent to it”, the lawyers stated, insisting “he assertion that our client intends to use the state machinery, by virtue of his position in the current administration, to annex the above-mentioned parcel of land is patently false.”

They therefore further stated that “the allegation suggesting that he visited the said
area in the company of weapon-bearing thugs is wholly untrue and utterly despicable.”

Instead, the statement said “our client, fully cognisant of the office he currently holds, will not, under any circumstances, engage in such wanton abuse of power and obvious criminality.”

As an accomplished lawyer of high repute and with vast experience in land acquisition
by lawful means, lawyers for Bediatuo said “our client is acutely familiar with the complex legal processes of acquiring land, and therefore, does not need to resort to illegal means of any kind in order to acquire land should he wish to”

They have therefore demand that the said allegations, being false and contrived, be
retracted in full, and an unqualified apology rendered to their client within forty-eight (48)
hours.

The lawyers have since advised their client on the various legal options available to him, including initiating an action in defamation in the event that the above demand is not heeded.

They have therefore expressed hope that the originators of those reprehensible untruths will do the needful in order that finality can be brought to this matter.
